About TIF

TISS Incube Foundation, the Section 8 Company is an independent entity jointly set up by TISS and BMCWS with registered office at Rajgurunar (District Pune in Maharasthra) and operating offices in Mumbai (at TISS and BMCWS Campuses).


Scope of Operation:

The Incubation Centre with a focus on rural and difficult areas and undertake projects mainly under the following heads,
Self-designed incubation programme with or without seed fund
External funded incubation support programmes
Training on entrepreneurship and related areas
Field based related assignment in areas like Impact Assesment, CSR etc
External sponsored programmes in related areas like CSR, Impact assessment etc.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS) is a Deemed to be  University set up under the UGC Act, 1956 of the Government of India and has more than 80 years in teaching, research and outreach engagement in the areas of rural and community development and social change through entrepreneurial actions. Prof. Satyajit Majumdar

Managing Director

Ex-Professor and Dean of School of Management and Labour Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, he is the Managing Director of TIF. With more than 40 years of cumulative experience across corporate and academics, he is the driving force behind TIF.

Dr. Madhav Sathe

Director

A practicing anaesthesiologist with over 40 years of experience, currently serving as the Joint Honorary Secretary of the Bombay Mothers and Children Welfare Society (BMCWS). Demonstrates expertise in NGOs, capacity building, and social entrepreneurship while leading impactful initiatives in urban and rural healthcare in Maharashtra. Dr. Sathe is the co-founder of TISS Incube Foundation.

Dr. Vipin Kumar

Director

Dr. Vipin Kumar is Chief Scientist and Former Director at the National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF). His research and interest areas are incubation and promotion of inclusive and demand driven innovations by way of value addition, intellectual property protection, business development, commercialization and developing of open-source technologies for the generation of employment opportunities for many. He incubated several innovative technologies which made their way to the domestic and international market.
