Krishi Naturals aims to make organic farming as a sustainable livelihood source for marginal farmers.
The venture tries to address the existing issues by promoting organic farming among farmers and bringing consumers more close to the farmers by partnering with them. Krishi Naturals organizes meetings with both the stakeholders i.e consumers and farmers. It goes to housing societies and explains them the need and benefits of organic farming and food. It asks consumers to subscribe for the weekly delivery of organic vegetable basket at their door step for the particular season and form their groups. It goes to farmers and tells them about benefits of organic farming and also about assured market as it is the most pressing problem in organic farming. That’s how it forms farmers’ group into 100 km periphery of that particular town. Before every season crop planning is done according to the demand. They have a basket of different vegetables based on the season. The organisation procures these vegetables from the farmers’ groups and brings it into our distribution center and segregates it according to demand and home deliver it through milk runs.
Krishi Naturals also intends to design a simple traceability system on an IT platform with images and videos through which consumers will be able to know from where and whom their food is coming and how it is grown. It has started from Vadodara and plans to scale it up to other cities.
