TISS Incube Foundation conducted an online Masterclass on “Startup Legalities – Do’s and Don’ts” on 06 June 2026. The session was led by Jatin Srivastava, Co-founder, Glocal Advisors, and Anupam Srivastava, Company Secretary, Seth & Associates.
The masterclass provided entrepreneurs with practical insights into the legal and regulatory requirements of starting and managing a business. Key topics covered included the selection of appropriate business structures such as proprietorships, partnerships, LLPs, and private limited companies, with a focus on the advantages of private limited companies for startups. The speakers also highlighted the importance of trademark protection and clarified the distinction between MCA name approval and trademark registration.
Participants gained an understanding of key incorporation documents, including the Memorandum of Association (MOA) and Articles of Association (AOA), as well as the importance of effective capital structure planning and maintaining a well-designed capitalization table.
The session further covered essential post-incorporation compliances, including conducting the first board meeting, appointing auditors, opening bank accounts, issuing share certificates, ensuring capital infusion, and completing relevant registrations such as Startup India and tax-related compliances.
The masterclass concluded with an interactive Q&A session, enabling participants to seek clarity on legal and compliance-related aspects of building investor-ready and legally compliant ventures.
