About the Venture

Make a Space has focused its activities in addressing the needs of orphan youth who are mostly neglected as they are out of institutional care and support. In doing so, it is also addressing the issue of increasing number of dropouts in higher education as well as imparting training in livelihoods, entrepreneurial and managerial skills so that they can be self-sufficient in future. At MAS, such orphans and youth are identified and learning programs are designed for the development of overall personality of the target group. Since they are either homeless or without any parental supervision, it has been felt that they need such programs designed to develop their personality and make them self-reliant. A Financial and Legal Literacy Program is being designed for them through which they would be able to understand their real status in the society and become aware of different distributive policies implemented by government for their betterment. The skill development program would help them generate income to support themselves financially. Make a Space intends to identify and reach out to maximum number of such orphan youth and connect them to higher education, and provide basic life skills training to improve their living standards. It has embarked on this arduous journey and has been receiving a positive response from the community.
